I'll be here, or 4 tips on how to get the right holiday feeling at home. In light of current events, we will probably spend a lot of time at home over the next few weeks. This is the best and only right thing we can do now. Another reason to make your home a nice place to stay. We spent our last summer holiday in the garden, fortunately with fantastic weather, which we all enjoyed very much and we were able to relax very well.
Here are our four tips to give you a holiday feeling at home.
1. rooms in the garden, on the terrace or on the balcony
Some people swear by the Konmari method: The first thing you do is to get an overview by putting all the items in one pile.
Next, you sort out the things that are broken and can be thrown away. Then you think about what you really want to keep. The rest you can give away or sell.
2. invest in new decoration, plants or furniture
Create a holiday oasis for yourself that stays even when others come back from their holidays. For the money you would have spent on hotels and excursions during your vacation, you can now treat yourself to other things (and probably there will be some left over).
When buying a chair, make sure that it is of good quality and weatherproof (e.g. hanging chairs) so that you can enjoy it for years to come. The best way to enjoy your furniture is to not always have to tidy it up. They should survive a summer rain without any problems and be ready for immediate use again.
3. do something you have never done before or not done for a long time
How about spending the night in the garden or on the balcony? Especially with children these are stress-free adventures that are fun and offer relaxation. In our hammocks, by the way, you lie comfortably together as a family, unlike in usual hammocks. Or snuggle up to your partner with a view of the stars. A water fight is not only fun for the children. Be creative and maybe just a little bit of child.
4. I'll be here
Enjoy your newly created oasis and enjoy real relaxation in the here and now. No holiday traffic jam, no photo contest, just enjoy life.
Soak up the sun, read a book, cuddle up with your loved ones and all that outside in the fresh air.
