In the light of current events, we will probably spend a lot of time at home in the coming weeks. This is the best and only right thing we can do right now. Another reason to decorate your home nicely. We spent our last summer vacation in the garden, fortunately with fantastic weather. We all really liked it and we were able to really relax.

Here are our four tips to give you that holiday feeling at home.

1. Clear up the garden, on the terrace or on the balcony

Some swear by the Konmari method: The first thing you do is get an overview by putting all the items in a pile.

Next, you sort out the things that are broken and can be thrown away. Then you think about what you really want to keep. You can give away or sell the rest.

2. Invest in new decorations, plants or furniture

Create a holiday oasis that will remain when others return from their vacation. For the money that you would have spent on hotel and excursions during your vacation, you can now treat yourself to other things (and there is probably still a lot left over).

When buying, be sure to pay attention to quality and weather resistance (e.g. hanging chairs ) so that you can continue to enjoy them for years to come. The best way to enjoy your furniture is not to keep tidying it up. They should survive a summer rain without any problems and be immediately usable again.

3. Do something you've never done before or haven't done in a long time

How about an overnight stay in the garden or the balcony? Especially with children, these are stress-free adventures that are fun and offer relaxation. Incidentally, in our hammocks , unlike in conventional hammocks, you can even lie comfortably together as a family. Or snuggle up to your partner with a view of the stars. A water fight isn't just fun for the kids. Be creative and maybe just a little child.
